Fifty deaths were linked to plastic surgery in Korea between 2016 and 2024, per the National Forensic Service. Fourteen of the deceased were foreign nationals. Twenty-three deaths involved anesthesia. Against a backdrop of hundreds of thousands of procedures annually, the absolute risk is low — and the pattern in the data is precisely why the verification checks in this collection exist.
